  • This position will know both aspects of FOH and BOH. Your shift will never be the same as you could work kitchen or tasting room bar but don’t worry you’ll be trained on every position. 
  • Hour Requirements:  At least 15-20 hours of availability including full availability three Saturdays a month.

Urban Apples shift supervisor is experienced, hands on, dedicated team player with outstanding management skills to supervise and lead the day to day operations of the tasting room and sales team. Must be sales savvy and creative, with the ability to motivate staff, effectively resolve conflict and create an exciting work environment while remaining focused on the goals of the company as a team.

  • Responsible for working nights, weekends and events (cider club pick ups)
  • Making sure all reservations correctly set up and charged for
  • Overseeing Winery Team & Jr. Team Leaders
  • Mandatory meetings second Tuesday of each month from 4p-5p.
  • Required to pick up 2+ shift supervisor shifts weekly along with one winery team shift.
  • Hourly rate: $18-$25 includes tips

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary day-of contact for private event space rentals during weekends, ensuring smooth operations and assisting with quick turnover between events.
  • Provide support to the team during events, including setup, coordination, and addressing any immediate needs.
  • Actively promote and encourage sign-ups for the cidery club (Cider Society) among visitors and guests.
  • Answer questions and provide information about the cidery club, including benefits, events, and membership details.
  • Maintain a welcoming and informative environment for guests, fostering positive relationships and enhancing their overall experience.
  • Assisting where needed wherever needed at the Cidery.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask and handle fast-paced environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge or interest in cider and/or beverage industry preferred.
  • Weekend availability is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead kitchen operations to ensure top-notch food quality and adherence to safety standards.
  • Coordinate food preparation activities and oversee kitchen staff.
  • Manage winery operations, including staff coordination, supplies, and events.
  • Collaborate on menu construction and culinary creations.
  • Handle food and equipment orders, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Conduct comprehensive training for kitchen staff and ensure adequate shift coverage.
  • Promote cooperation and respect among team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven kitchen management experience.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of culinary trends and kitchen processes.
  • Health and safety credentials (Serve Safe) and active liquor license required.

Schedule & Hour Requirements:

  • Ideal schedule includes 34-38 hours per week.
  • Maximum 39.5 hours on weekends.
  • Must average 30 hours per week in the kitchen.
  • Weekend availability is required.
  • Flexibility for schedule adjustments as needed.

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Head Kitchen Supervisor to organize the kitchen’s activities. You will be the first in command in the kitchen and will ensure dishes are presented well and of the highest quality before they arrive to the customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities
  • Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the consistency and quality of the servings
  • Place food orders and/or equipment 
  • Arrange for repairs when necessary
  • Remedy any problems or defects
  • Be fully in charge of training kitchen staff
  • Oversee the work of subordinates
  • Make sure all shifts are correctly covered/finding replacements as needed
  • Mandatory Monthly Meetings (First & Second Wednesday each month from 4p-5p)
  • Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-workers
  • Your job will not be limited to the above list. As Urban Apples is always growing, adapting and flexible with changes.

Skills:

  • Proven experience working in a kitchen
  • Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
  • Ability to divide responsibilities, delegate and monitor progress
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills
  • Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
  • Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, POS)
  • Credentials in health and safety training (Serve Safe)
  • Detail oriented and exceptional organizational skills
  • Required active liquor license 

Schedule: 

Somewhat flexible. Required to work an average of 40 hours weekly. Day, mid-shift & weekends. Responsible for making sure all shifts are correctly covered/finding replacements as needed. Also, with the requirement of working at least 1 shift per month in the tasting room.

Pay: Salary and tips. 

Wages will be discussed during the interview and will depend on experience and skills.
